How to play & color mixing rules
Every color appears exactly once. Green is fixed at the top. The numbers shown on the seven seats are provided; their order changes with the day.
- Neighbors sit in adjacent positions, including positions 7 and 1. A clue saying “2 spaces counterclockwise” means move exactly two positions around the ring in that direction.
- Steps apart means the shortest route around the ring, unless a direction is given.
- Mixing uses simple classroom paint rules: Red + Yellow = Orange; Yellow + Blue = Green; Red + Blue = Violet (not how light mixes).
- “Numbers 3 and 5 make Green” means positions 3 and 5 are Yellow and Blue in some order. Green is already fixed at position 1.
Select an available color from ROY or BIV, then tap a ring position to place it. Your selection clears after each placement. To move a placed color, tap it on the ring, then tap its destination. Placing a palette color over another returns the displaced color to the palette; moving a ring color onto another swaps them. Tap a selected ring color again to cancel.
Test scoring sends an anonymous browser ID and your submissions to BIVOT. One result counts per browser and puzzle. Your timer starts when you press Start and pauses when you leave the puzzle, switch tabs, or minimize the browser. It resumes when you return to the puzzle. Incorrect submissions keep your pieces in place. One uniquely deducible solution exists for each puzzle.
